Ideally, we can make the tubes infinitely large, but that brings along both weight and interference problems. For now, we’re going to be choosing 5/8 in O.D. for the a-arm tubes as that what was what the steering system was designed around clearance-wise. This is by no means scientific though, as it could be smaller or larger if needed. However, for now we are going to go with that assumption and continue designing.
Choose an A-Arm tube I.D.
How? Well ideally we want the I.D. to be as close to the O.D. as possible, as that means the wall thickness → 0, thus making the mass of the a-arms → 0.
